Audley End

Firstly I am sorry for the lack of posts. I've not really been anywhere and when I have its for lunches, concerts etc and a lack of photos. The  weather hasn't been conducive either has it :) I'll have ago at trying to be a better blogger. I have seen my first Siskins on my walk from home.

Anyway today I met up with my friends Rebecca and Stuart at Audley. Everyone who knows them will be SHOCKED that they were late,

There were lots of Canada Geese. There wasn't a Greylag amongst them and I do wonder where the Barnacle Geese that used to turn up have gone.

Now dear Tufted Ducks is there any chance you could turn up on my local pond for ooh 5 minutes? Thank you!

The food I have to report has improved at Audley but dear gods was service slow!

Anyway a nice wander and LOVELY to see some sun. If I can get my backside out of bed Monday I'll be out again!

Looks a good day out and as you say so good to see some sun!! I do like the dried flowers hanging up in the tool shed :) Hope Tufties turn up on your local pond eventually and well done on the Siskins :)

It must be the mid 1980's since I last visited Audley End, back then it was empty of any furniture. Good to see it again. With your goose question the warmer winters are having an effect on goose range. Not being as cold they come in fewer numbers, or stay on the continent. Also avian flu, and a general population decline (now improving) mean fewer birds in usual areas. Bewick sawn numbers are also low, for example Slimbridge.

Well you can't blame the geese for not moving. I know we have some local populations of Barnacles that have established in the UK and I wondered if they might be part of that. Audley is now fully furnished
