Hello.... Red Kite!
The house was designed in the Palladian style by John Carr and built in 1776. The house passed through a number of owners and by 1952 it was in a terrible state. Lord and Lady Lliffe bought it, restored it and then in 1979 left it to the National Trust. Today it is a lovely building.
Basildon Park has been used for lots of films and TV series including Pride & Prejudice (the Keira Knightly version) and Downton Abbey.
50's/60's kitchen!
All made of shells!!
Lady Lliffe chose this for her bedroom.... good choice.
lunch was a Carrot & Coriander Soup and a cheese scone!
Nice day out shame about the awful weather!
