When I was a kid the River Thames in central London had a reputation of being incredibly dirty. Over the years the Thames has been cleaned up a bit.
I was reminded of that today as I was strolling around Docklands I saw at least 3 Great Crested Grebe swimming about, now given that Grebes eat fish that gives you an idea things are getting better in the the Thames in central London.
I've also seen Coots, Mute Swans, Cormorants and of course the Mallard!
