A spot of Birding

Yes yes I know it's ages since I did any birding which wasn't local (and lets be honest I haven't done much of that).

So after much nagging from Trish she wandered up and we headed to Norfolk.

We stopped for breakfast at Walkers Snack Bar for Sausage, Egg and Bacon roll and then on to Titchwell stopping at Choseley on route to see Corn Bunting and Yellowhammer

Where we were met by one of the RSPB's meeters and greeters...

This was a really good find.... Woodcock .... record shot I'm afraid but.....

We headed on down to the beach.

wow that's some sand on the board walk before you get to the sea!

Oh some birds.....

Teal

Godwit - Black Tailed I think

Avocets - lots of these

Godwit - Black Tailed I think

Curlew

Teal

Coot

Another Avocet

Spotted Redshank coming  in to breeding plumage

Wren hiding

Chaffinch

His northern cousin

They are ridiculously tame!

We then went into Hunstanton

Fulmar

They get everywhere

We stopped off for a light lunch, Sausage and Chips, which was eaten along the sea front!

Then onto Flitcham Abbey farm to tick the obligatory Little Owl!

Some nice birds seen: including Snipe, Oystercatcher, Bar Tailed and Black Tailed Godwit, Curlew, Marsh Harrier, Avocet, Redshank, Spotted Redshank, Buzzard, Little Owl, Brambling, Wren, Wigeon, Pintail, Stonechat, Ruff, Grey Plover, Red Legged Partridge, Redwing, Fieldfare.

There would have been more if some numpty had not left his tripod at home....

Yep, think you're right with the black-tailed godwit. Looks a lovely day.
