Anyway Trish is up testing cameras...... and as the sun was shining ..... we headed to Amwell.
There were loads of Warblers especially Cetti's (seen well!) but there were good views of Lesser Whitethroat, Garden Warbler and we got to hear a Grasshopper Warbler. Another highlight was an Oystercatche with young.
Not much was camera friendly however.
So off we went and Trish had said she wanted to try and photograph some rape fields.
And so we arrived at Audley End....
The stable block....
The residents....
A wander around the gardens...... which were looking lovely.
And yes no cake, there were loads of people in the line and one poor girl serving....
So onto Saffron Walden and a raid of Waitrose :D
And then on to Finchingfield....
There were a number of Ducklings one of which was blonde. So Trish suggested calling it Dawn !

Hi RR
Essex is an attractive county you just have to ignore certain parts (e.g. East London and the new towns!!)
Sorry Pete;) - it was such a loverly day I thought you'd be up and going out early!
Amwell -interesting thought need to see a gropper and a Garden W.....I will start with Otmoor if I dont get a Grasshopper reeling there then might have to do a trek out east!
Have to go to Nagshead very soon as well.
