Calke Abbey in the Rain

There wasn't a cloud in the sky when I woke this morning however it has rained non-stop since 10 this morning!! Now if you have small children you'll know how hard it can be - I have an 82 year old father :D Dad hates rain.



The walled garden is rather pretty.

The house was given to the trust in the 80's and has been virtually left as is. The family used to collect stuff and when a room filled up they shut the door!


















The bed was ordered in the 18th century and left unopened ! Amazing isn't it.
