When Dad and I came back from shopping a Small Tortoiseshell butterfly was sunbathing on the window sill and a Brimstone (well it was bright yellow!) was seen ut of the window later.
After lunch I popped down to Rye meads. Lots of ducks, a Little Grebe, fly through Heron and Tits, Dunnocks and Robins singing their hears out. I also saw a Lapwing and my first Green Sandpiper of the year.
I hoped to see one specific bird and I hadn't gone 10 paces from Draper Hide before I spied him. Flitting in the bushes was a plain little grey bird yes the Chiffchaffs are back! One of our first migrants.
As I strolled along the paths a Cetti's Warbler sang his hear out and a Red Admiral fluttered by. Bliss!
Gadwall

This pair of mallards were sat in a ditch. The males expression seems to be suggesting he'd like some privacy!

Spring is definitely here - whey hey! And to see a flutter and chiff chaff - great stuff.
It certainly does look like Bliss. Imagine, flutters already!
