A Musical Sunday

The weather forecast was meant to be poor today (showers) and yet it was dry. Dull and grey but dry!

It was cold this morning. Ice on the car!

I did offer.....

We were going to a Pret in London but both were closed so we went to McDonalds (we left walked 5 minutes and found an open Pret!!)

Oh my god Christmas is coming!

A new set of Sculptures in Hanover Square

You've already eaten Trish!!

If you can't get to the chocolate then worship it.

Sculptures in Soho Square.

We popped into Cameraworld - neither of us bought but I am in lust with the Fuji XE1 :)

The concert was at the Wigmore Hall and was the Dante Quartet playing

Mozart - String Quartet in F K590
Dvorak - String Quartet in F Op 96 'American'

The Dante, as ever, were excellent and a nice variety of repetoire

Yuck

I was out with Dad today....

I awoke to find a smattering of SNOW!! Still the sun was shining and so I picked him up and set off. Sir was       after a large bag of potatoes.

As we drove along the sun started to disappear behind clouds and the rain fell! We got the spuds but it was wet and cold! We parked up and had a coffee and it rained harder.

We drove back to Finchingfield with the hope that it might be drier! No such luck! So we ate our sarnies listening to Radio 4 and as it was raining and cold decided to come home!

Photos? None! Still Dad got a ride out.

Oh I did see a Lapwing and 6 Red Legged Partridges whilst driving.

Swiping

You can go anywhere these days without seeing someone swiping their finger over a smart phone. 10 year old kids have what I think of as an expensive piece of kit......

I have resisted this urge and intend to continue doing so.

However I was sitting in the office yesterday when a manager asked if I wanted to look at his photos from a holiday in America. He whipped out his tablet and showed a colleague and I his photos. All very nice and then he said "it's a Blackberry Playbook 64gb" so what I thought  "it's £129 from Currys and PC World)".

A light bulb flashed and I thought hang on! I've wanted something for holidays (especially foreign holidays - as Diane put it "foreign holidays? get him!") to store photos bit of browing etc. In Florence and Paris we took Trish's small laptop but this meant we are carrying more than we really need. My colleague Trev and myself both had a similar need (and thought!) and both ordered one indeed he nipped out lunchtime and I picked my up last night.

The thing is setup and working and I've tweeted, facebooked and emailed from it! I've even swiped the screen!! I think it is just what I need, I'm awaiting a device that will allow it to accept USB's and I'm sorted.

My only problem is will it fit in my small camerabag to get through as Ryanair etc carry on luggage (my camera bag is small!) something I need to try tonight!

Lavenham

I have a house guest for the weekend, my friend Jan from cornwall so we went out for the day. I took her to Lavenham (and yes I know you've seen it ssssoooo many times!) Jan hasn't been there in ages.

We had brunch at Sweetmeats tea room which had rave reviews on Tripadvisor.

I asked for toasted teacake and got clotted cream and home made jam, it was lovely.

We went into the guildhall....

nice day with good company.
