Seville Day 2 - the morning

I am going to split day 2 as I took rather a lot of pictures!!

First job of the day ? A cafe for breakfast.

Then off to the Jardine de Murillo.

Then on to the Plaza de Espana. It was built in 1928 for the 1929 Ibero-American exposition.

Then into the wider Parque de Maria Luisa, They were created in 1911 and were formerly the gardens of the Palace of San Telmo. There were lots of sparrows and parakeets. There were a few dragonflies and 2 butterflies.. one a yellow species. Which i think was a clouded yellow.

Seville Day 1

I'm away with friends in Seville. We left stansted and arrived in Seville to find sun and warmth. It was 25c!

There are masses of parakeets!

Just a few today.

The Torre del Oro. It was built around 1220 by the Almohad Caliphate.

A replica of Ferdinand Magellan's ship that was the first to circumnavigate the world. A bit small.

The bullring.

The Cathedral of which more later.

Local Catch-up

I haven't been taking my camera out on my walks.

I haven't seen any winter visitors yet. There are same big flocks of goldfinch about.

The white duck is still about. I don't see him every day but when I think he's gone he reappears. I've started htk see Common Gulls again. Another seasonal sign were 14 Canada Geese.

After breeding season the Coots have left the New Hall pond.

Most of the foals have left the common. There are still 2 and they may be there all winter now.

I did see a Red Admiral this week and a bee. I suspect the butterfly might be my last.
