I was in London today for a meeting so slipped my little camera in a jacket pocket and had a little stroll.
As arrived for my meeting the sun caught St Lawrence Jewry....
Guildhall
The Bank of England
St Mary Woolnorth
St Stephen Wallbrook
St Mary-Le-Bow
A church tower just standing in a street...
Sight of a former church....
St Anne and St Agnes
A last view of the Guildhall.......

Busy Doing Nothing
So I left dad's yesterday lunchtime and I decided to head home...... the forecast being for rain and of course it didn't rain!
Hence instead of working to improve my bird list, a rather paltrey 15, I sat around and did? Well not much!
Hard to believe doing nothing can be so tiring! I turned the light off and had fallen asleep by 9:10!! I awoke at five to eleven with the radio still on. What an exciting life eh ;)
Anyway I did think about things/places I want to visit in 2014 and I did realise that there were a few deeply embarrassing omissions in the Historic Properties I have visited.
For example I have yet to visit Buckingham Palace or Kensington Palace and there are a few National Trust properties that are relatively close that I haven't visited. Ascott, West Wycombe Park, The Red House and Fenton House. There are reasons ! In three of the cases the opening hours are plan awkward. But I think I'll have to crack them this year. West Wycombe is a must since I can visit the Church which is on my list!
Yes the church list for 2013 was pathetic! The lack of solo UK holidays really impacted my progress! I have plans to go back to Yorkshire and Northumberland next year so hopefully I will visit some more in 2014!

St Albans Cathedral
It was dull, it was very grey and it was wet so I thought I'd head to St Albans and look around the Cathedral....

Happy New Year
I wrote at the start of the year "It promises to be a year of great change for your blogger, just when that change will hit I don't know but the times they are a changing." but surprisingly all the change has been delayed and so 2014 promises to be a year of great change :)
I have two holidays booked one in Seville. I'm hoping for a bit of early spring sunshine and warmth, Rome was lovely last March! I'm also off to Munich and Verona. Why not Venice ? well 6 nights in Verona were the same as 4 in Venice and so I'll go to Verona do a day in Venice and visit some other places.
Other plans? Well a visit to Munich I hope and if things pan out I'll do a week in the UK! I miss sitting in National Trust tearooms eating cake!
Not sure about Dad holidays. He seems reluctant to think about it but I hope I'll take him away as the change of scenery is good for him.
The last year has been surprisingly good I had some fabulous holidays. I really couldn't tell you my favourite they were all different.
Anyway Happy New Year.
