Hibernation

It seems I am going to have to write and not just post pictures.

Not sure how long this will last but I am staying put except for buying food. I am sort of avoiding social media, I know what I have to do and so I would like to escape the world and its dogs opinions and latest theory.

I was meant to be in Italy last week, then the Cotswolds and then it was my house ;) I have booked a trip to Italy in March 2021, ever the optimist. As soon as this is over I will go somewhere to

Things I have discovered in isolation? Time Tunnel is on TV at the moment. The Saint with Roger Moore (also on) is surprisingly enjoyable..I keep having to look the cast list up on episodes as actors and actresses look familiar but younger than I remember. Has anyone read the books? Are they any good?

I am reading plenty, although mostly rereads. I am comfort reading ;)  Escaping to fantasy worlds.

Anyway still here.... keep safe people

Clare Country Park

I am not sure how this blog will work over the next few months in this world of social distancing. Obviously I am going to follow the rules, I expect you will get lots of birding from my two local reserves that remain open. If we are confined to barracks ...... EEK

I was meant to be flying to Verona, then it was the Cottswolds and now? There's no point cancelling my time off (you'll find out why in June ;) ) so I am going to have to spend it in parks and gardens locally. And yes I will stay safe.

I now expect done of my holidays will take place until about September hey ho.

Anyway the sun was shining so I went for a drive to Clare Country Park (didn't go into the town no point really).

There were people about we were all observing distancing rules but people said hello which was nice to see.

The castle

I did hear a Cetti's Warbler first one I've heard there.

Essex villages

Not many pictures today.... I went for a stroll around Finchingfield & Thaxted today. I know I've been to both recently but I had other reasons for going today

Who are you looking at!

Thaxted

With a bit of luck Saturday might be more interesting.

Audley End - it was empty!

So off to Audley End. It was weird.... why weird? because I have NEVER seen it so empty of people. I assume they were out buying 400 toilet rolls?

Ah signs of spring

There were tons of bees in one of the greenhouses.

Another sign of spring

Also the Tufted Ducks had gone... they only seem to be there in Winter

Nice walk but spooky

Lavenham and Thaxted

I suppose I should have gone birding today. The weather was right and I won't get a . chance for a bit but for some reason I just went for a ride and listened to podcasts. I ended up at Lavenham and wandered to the guildhall for a coffee and a scone.

Hazlenut and Chocolate Scone.

So back I came and stopped at  Thaxted for a walk.

The temperature was quiet warm today and  have finally managed to cut the grass!
