Audley End - a wider perspective

There is currently scaffolding on the house as English Heritage prepares to open up even more parts of Audley End than ever before in Spring 2014. For the first time, visitors will be able to have a unique glimpse of life upstairs at Audley End, as well as downstairs.
The Nursery Suite, the private domain of the 3rd Lord Braybrooke's eight children and their entourage of nursemaids and governesses, will be recreated as it was in the 1830s. Plus, the unique Coal Gallery, which provided warmth and hot water to the mansion's upper floors, will be revealed, and many of the great mansion's 'front of house' State Rooms will also be re-presented.
