After I had lunch with his nibs (Turkey Breast! Effectively another Christmas dinner) I met up with Trish. I suggested that we might "twitch" another bird. So off to Bramfield Church....
The bird in question is Hawfinch not exactly a twitch but a scarce bird. Apparently they had been seen 5 minutes before we got there..... There was a nicely perched Nuthatch.
I thought I'd seen one but...... then we heard one........
So waiting when I spotted a Red Kite! Then finally one perched enough to be sure so we headed back....
Oh the church wasn't open but....

Well done with the Hawfinch. Still eluding my life list! :-(
Another great sighting Pete :) Never ever seen Hawfinch. We entered a hide once at Nagshead to be greeted with the dreaded words "you should have been here a minute ago there was a Hawfinch drinking from the pond" !!
I noticed Clumber Park Notts seems a good site but its a long trek and I only "twitch" locally :)
Was a good call eh.... glad we got the Hawfinch... :)
