First to Chalfont St Giles

Then we stopped at St John the Baptist, Little Missenden.
And on to Hughenden Manor the home of Benjamin Disraeli.
There were quite a few Red Kites this one came just about into range of my travel zoom.
My first Blue butterfly of the year.
The house was used by the military during World War II, and the basement now has an exhibition of life on the home front. History to some, memories to my dad "I had one of those..."
You are a very talented photographer. The pictures are all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA great selection of pictures (those stained glass windows are something else!!) and a lovely post altogether BUT...
ReplyDeleteI really do like the picture of Dad in his suit and tie... something about the composition ... really nice.
Well my dear you've done a great job of it today. That house is lovely. I wouldn't mind that scarecrow and the lady bird. lol. Great shots Pete. It looks so summery there.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Pete. Looks like you and your dad had a lovely day out.
ReplyDeleteI like the wall paintings in St John the Baptist - they look centuries old and that first stained glass window is beautiful.
Looks like a grand day out. We were down that way last weekend. Good Red Kite shots - I've got some posted on my blog now.
ReplyDeleteI had to stop to stare at the Dog Toy Bush. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the shots with the windows a lot. Actually all the shots are rather lucious with details. The Metro museum of art is having an exhibit reported in todays new york times entitled Rooms with a view and it reminded me of your shots with windows. They are very nice indeed.
