Oh Fudge, its a duck!!

Well Dad went out yesterday which was good. He reckons it would be easier with a patch over the eye!! Think he is a tadge nervous.

I took him up the docs for the flu jab. When I drove past at 8:45 they were queueing but we had a cup of tea and by the time we pulled up it was clear and he was out in two minutes. I dropped him in Bishops Stortford and he bussed it home.

I went over the forest, very quiet (except for a Willow/Chiff in flock of Long Tails) but the weather was to die for!!

May I ask which of the next two you prefer?

So where to now? I went to Audley End Mansion.

I love the reflections in this sequence.

The duck spots a shadow.

Oh its a human with a camera!

Oh got home and checked birdguides and found there were two good birds at Amwell Gravel Pits a male Scaup and a Ferruginous Duck (only seen one of these before). Ferruginous is a bit of a mouthful so they are commonly known as fudge ducks. I promptly went to seen them. Saw both (also great views of a Snipe) but were two distant for photos so we'll finish with a few dragonfly photos.

  2. Great pictures and the weather was a corker!!

Of the two pictures?? Difficult. I like the distance and great "openess" of the 2nd picture but prefer the more subtle tree stump in picture 1.

    Lovely pics altogether though :)
