Lavenham

I hadn't intended to go to Lavenham but as I headed up the M11 the warning lights were showing 50 and as I didn't fancy the risk of a jam turned off.

During WWII Lavenham was not the picture postcard village it is today, lots of the buildings were run down and so it is lovely to visit now and see them looking so well cared for. Today some may consider Lavenham too "commercialised". Yes there are lots of tea rooms, antiques shops, touristy shops, fashionable pubs/hotels alongside the lovely well maintained old buildings (including the Guildhall, Little Hall, Church etc) but it also has the shops and facilities you need for day to day life and as well it does seem to have a social life you don't get in bigger towns.

So lets wallow in some of the picturesque.

I like the way and old signpost has been reused.

I do like the NT tearoom at the guildhall, it feels "right"
