Rye Meads

The car windscreen is being repaired today so I wasn't hopeful of getting out but I had a phone call at 9:30 to tell me they'd be here between 12 & 2 so I nipped down to Rye Meads.

AW ducklings!

The proud Mum

I saw a Tern last week but there were 3 this week. Nice to see them back they are so elegant compared to gulls.

Speckled Wood

Pochard

Canada Goose

Typical modern parenting! Rules don't apply to them ;)

Cute though.

This coot is building a nest right in front of the tern hide. Coots aren't "sexy" birds but they are feisty parents.

Look very closely.... TAWNY OWL!

Other birds seen? Lapwing, Grey Heron, Chiffchaff, Redshank, Sedge Warbler, Cetti's Warbler (decent views) and a Garden Warbler (if it sounds like a Blackcap and has no black on its head ;) )

Waiting for the windscreen man now!
