Day 2 - Peschiera Del Garda

So after a lovely meal the night before (best Gnocchi I have ever had) and indulging in some local wine (when in Italy I like to drink the local wine so this was from the Veneto plane) we headed for the small town of Peschiera Del Garda which is on Lake Garda.

The sun was shining!

Rather than walk into town we walked the other way around the lake which last time had plenty of wildlife. Lots of Swallows!

Lake Garda had lots of Great Crested Grebe and this time there were Little Grebe (we didn't see any last time!!)

Ah Italian Sparrow (a hybrid of Spanish and House)

Cormorant with fish.

We saw Red Crested Pochards and at least 8 Garganey alas no pics.... so have some more Great Crested Grebes.

So back into town! to eat.

We had food on a pontoon. Very touristy but lovely to sit with a glass of wine!

this chap was swimming alongside.

HELLO!! Just alongside the "beach" Garganey!

Red Crested Pochard

Nearby is Gardaland.... this guy was at the station.

The Piazza Bra by night!

The restaurant.
