Dunwich Heath and Flatford Mill

The plan for today was to go to Flatford but when the National Trust East of  England twitter feed mentioned the scone of the month at Dunwich Trish suggested we make an early start and head there first! Well who am I to argue!

Although we saw a Dartford Warbler one never came in camera range

Female Stonechat... record shot

Chaffinch

Linnet

Common Whitethroat

Linnet

Oh wow! A Cetti's Warbler not great but to even get a record shot!

And here is the Dunwich Heath scone of the month.... Coconut and Lemon Curd..... scone of the year contender. This one was designed by cook Jamie not Rob. Nice to see scones are in good hands there

And so off to Flatford... There were a few folk about! The car park was heaving.

Lunch ... Rhubarn and Ginger very nice.

Valley Farm was open!

National Trust volunteer!

And another!

We stopped off to get some cheese on the way home :D

I may be going to Shrewsbury for a book launch on Saturday can you please recommend any NT properties nearby that I could visit on the way? Thanks so much. Although yet to tell family of plan so who knows!!
