NT Godolphin, NT Trengwainton and the final Cornish church on the list

Given that Godolphin was recommended by the National Trust twitter feed and the Godolphin feed said they had scones I just had to go......

Godolphin House is a new property for the Trust and it lacks the corporate Trust feel :) The gardens are a work in progress and the house is open one week per month for the rest it is let as a holiday home that sleeps 12 and in peak season costs £3,200 per week......

What you see of the house therefore is a holiday home. Given the trust bought the property it makes sense I guess. I doubt the house would make money as an attraction.

This is a pond..... LOL it was originally fed from waters from the mines........

this is the builders graffiti

and so my lunchtime scone.....

It was rather nice..... not 5/5 but definitely one I'd have again.....

I had no plans to visit Trengwainton BUT the way the trip had worked out this was the only day I could get to my final Cornish church and the garden is 1/2 mile from the church so.......

part of the garden has been turned into a dig for victory garden....

The tea room is not NT. The scone? was ok a tadge dry but I've had worse on this trip......

And so to the final Cornish church in my book yet to visit

813 St Maddern, Madron

Coat of arms of Henry VII

Nelson banner. News of Trafalgar was reported first(?) to Madron....

The bell is from the Ding Dong Mine (I kid you not) and said to be the oldest tin mine in Britain.

Its been 6 years since I last visited Cornwall..... I'll be back sooner than that and there are lots of coves and seaside towns to show you......
