The house was acquired by the National Trust in 1907 but it was a tenant Colonel Lyle who greatly restored it. The house is empty which I find ever so sad but well worth a visit for the fabulous arts & crafts gardens.....

What a beautiful place. Can't get over the flowers. Gorgeous.
It really is one of my favs.. and the rose WAS scented... another really lovely day out.... :D
