Hatfield Forest & Paycocke's

I headed off to Hatfield Forest first thing (it was the best light of the day). The bird song was wonderful to hear lots of Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps. Highlights being first Willow Warbler and Bullfinch. There are a pair of Great Crested Grebe and they are nesting. Luckily this year they seem to have chosen a sensible place.

Amusingly there is a Moorhen/Coot nest the other side (I'm getting old I can't remember which it was!! I think Moorhen)

Hello.....

I THINK its a Willow Warbler...... there was one singing nearby.

I had to pop into Stortford so I decided to visit Paycockes. As I've said before it's a Tudor Merchants Townhouse. I do like the garden......

Great to get the Willow Warble as such close quarters posing. Nice pics!!

Paycock's is a lovely 'intimate' garden; looking very lush too.

What a beautiful garden and the house looks interesting too :) I love the photo of a shed with dried lavender and other seedheads :)
