Coming home

My normal B&B/Hotel of choice is Briarfields but Trish and I were in Bagthorpe Hall.

The house was once huge!! but the main bit was knocked down in the fifties and what you see was in a terrible state. It has been wonderfully restored and it really is like staying in a stately home.

My room was comfy (lovely duvet) and the breaky rather nice (a large plate of raspberries and loganberries a nice touch). And it was very good value.

Not every B&B has it's own walled garden!

Cheryl, Corinna, Trev, Trish and I met up at Welney.

the birds were camera shy!

The birdy highlight was a Pectoral Sandpiper....

A visit to Norfolk

For the first time in way too long I met up with a group of friends (and Trevor ;) )

We were meeting up at Burnham Deepdale for the Blonde one to finally pay up on her bet that I wouldn't go abroad last year. I was of course early and went for a wander.

lot of Pink Footed Geese flying about. It's an amazing sight!

Deepdale church

It is the first time Trevor and Corinna have met though they have had encounters on facebook. He looks happy I think it was blind terror.

Corinna and Diane

The blonde one... looking happy in Trev's terror

Keith igoring the chat and getting stuck in.

And on to Titchwell.

Highlights being Greenshank, Dunlin, Little Stint, Snipe, Marsh Harrier, Eider, Sandwich Tern, Skua (prob Arctic ), Grey Plover, Brambling (nice spot Trev) etc.....

Trish, Blondie and Trev

Corinna to Diane: Wow I can see a Hummingbird :D

Trish and Trev on a beach. We had to drag him on to it.

Cheryl and Trish

And Trish I do take the occasional good pic of you!

Di, Keith and Blondie (Dawn) had to head off. But Trish, Trev, Cheryl, Corinna and I were staying over and met up later at Briarfieds for dinner which was excellent. I had Pigeon, Duck and a chocolate Torte. A good day had by all and it can't be that long to the next one.
