Holkham Hall

We popped into Hunstanton this morning, the site of many family holidays....

Ah the butcher..... he has a brother at Sherringham. Looks like he may have had a lick of paint. Dad remembers buying some Lamb Chops here and going back to check the price as they were so expensive..... The things he remembers....

And then onto Holkham Hall. Dad is disappointed that you can no longer park with views of the lakes. I was told a few years ago this was because a new estate manager wanted to present the house without cars spoling the vista as it would have been. I guess the restaurant and gift shop are traditional.....

St Witburga's church is the other side of the lake and today is the first time I've been in.

The queues for the cafe and ice cream were so slow so we had an ice cream on the way home....

Although I live in Norfolk too, I rarely visit the north west of the county and it's years since I've been to Holkham.

Looking at your blogroll, we have several friends in common as well as Ally, surprising we haven't met before!
