Belvedere Palace, Stephansdom, Karlskirche a Taster

And so to the first full day in Vienna. We got up early (I mean early!!) and headed into town.

Ah the Stephansdom

Amusingly we were too early and got ejected (luckily I had taken lots of pics)

We wandered through the Stadtpark. The Strauss memorial

The liberation memorial. I never think of Austria being occupied after 1945.... but it was until 1955.

The rather lovely Belvedere Palace

in the gardens....

The Karlskirche

and seen about town.

Gotta love the "Grass" photo. I see there are also Lucky Strike cigarettes there in the display. My mother use to smoke Lucky Strikes years and years ago. Europe is so full of magnificent statues and buildings. Looks like it's another splendid holiday.
