New Year's Day

So here we are in 2013, it is at least started with good weather.

I have finally gone and bought a new telly for the living room, together with wi-fi the "hifi" is likely to get more use this year!

Sir and I wandered down to Currys and soon as they opened  and quickly picked it up, took it home and tuned it. Didn't take long. We then headed out for a ride to enjoy the sun and ended up at Thaxted. I do get transported back to my childhood whenever I see the spire come into view......

Odd to see Apples still on the tree....

On the bird front I've yet to see a Blue or Great tit but there was a Coal Tit in the churchyard!

Looks like you had even sunnier weather than here! Beautiful village and church and great photos. Those apples might attract some Waxwings!

I saw "grand" total of 11 species of bird in the garden today. Slow start to year list!

oooh, lovely Thaxted, town of my ancestors. I keep finding more and more of my rellies were from Thaxted, so we are looking forward to more trips there this year. Isn't it lovely to see a blue sky for a change. Happy New Year!

Wessex! Both faves of mine. They're not what people think of as Essex.

Happy new year Cindy

Lovely way to start the New Year. Love the gargoyle creature with the drain pipe (I think it's a drain pipe). Some of the other statues are beautifully done.
