Celebrating the Apple

I had to take some stuff down the tip this morning, I was assured by Sir it opened at 8am and so I dutifully arrived at 8:07 to find it open at 9...... GREAT!!!

So where to? I should have done a bit of birding but with the sun shining I headed to Audley End.

There was an event on celebrating the Apple!

Explaining Tudor food..... the Potato.

Apples? They had a few varieties..... :)

Some new horses!!

Demoing how the Victorian's killed moles.

A demo of Falconry

Rather nice day. Audley End was looking lovely.

My ancestor, William Barker, was Chief Mole Catcher at Audley End in the 1800's ....poor old moles. I love Audley End and the surrounding area.
