Birds, Squirrels, a Church and a wonderful concert

Firstly to reassure Turquis I won't be neglecting England, I'm only planning 2 overseas trips per year! still leaves 5 or 6 in England and various days out!

Well we have a 4 day bank holiday! Today was a concert day so off to London.

The concert wasn't until 2pm so a stroll around Regent's Park

This is a VERY young Heron

Now curiously there is a church I need right by Regent's Park at it was open today.....

so

796 St Cyprian, Clarence Gate.

And back for some more Herons :D

Young Pochard

The concert was the first of 4 to be given over the weekend by the London Haydn Quartet consisting of all 6 of Joseph Haydn's opus 20 String Quartets couple with 6 Mozart String Quintet's for which they are joined by violist Steven Dann.

This afternoon we  had

Joseph Haydn - String Quartet in C Op 20 No 2
Mozart - String Quintet in Bb K174
Mozart - String Quintet in Eb K614

really hard to pick a favourite piece. A strong contender for concert of the year I suspect!

Great day but WHY did the some come out after we had been around Regent's Park?!

Looks and sounds like a great day out Pete. Love the photos of the Squirrels and Herons. Please forgive my absurd imagination but the last three Heron photos do look rather like a flasher, raincoat and all ;-)

Well I am impressed that you are planning some overseas trips! When's the Florida trip then? :)

Looks like that squirrel is in the modelling business. ;-) Meanwhile, the Herons are practising for Britain's Got Talent.
