A sunny morning.....

Ye gods the sun was shining this morning!!! It's such a rare occurrence these days that I hopped out of bed and went over to Hatfield Forest.

There are a few buttercups showing, in a few weeks it'll be a sea of yellow!

I was wandering along when a Little Owl flew in front of me!! First one I've seen there for a number of years.

Lots of Warblers about including Chiffchaff, Blackcap (loads of these but no Garden Warblers!!), Willow Warbler, Common Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat and Sedge Warbler. There was also a Reed Bunting in the reeds with the Sedge Warbler.

If you look closely you'll see.....

....this

There is a nest by the shell house this one is directly opposite! There may well be a third pair as wel!

I was also pleased to see 2 Common Terns both on the tern raft at one point!

Nice to see a Greylag family.

I could have gone to Audley End but decided that the afternoon forecast wasn't good so I went to Rye Meads the weather had turned by this point. The car park was packed as were the hides so I just went for a stroll. Again lots of Warblers including finally a Garden Warbler.

It's a lousy picture but....

Wonderful to see blue skies and a butterfly Pete :D.

I would have been over the moon with a Garden Warbler photo like that!

Love the pictures especially the babies. The picture of the warbler is darn good as far as I'm concerned.
