All quiet on the home front

I made my first trip to Hatfield Forest or a while. There were some good birds about but they were a bit camera shy. I only saw the one Great Crested Grebe on the lake which was a bit surprising but there were some good woodland birds about Jays (lots of these), Nuthatch, Goldcrest, Marsh Tit, Great Spotted and Green Woodies.

A number of Trust properties in the East of England have these "picture frames".

So after a bacon sarnie off to Rye Meads.

This Little Grebe was diving about.

A young Mute Swan

Gorgeous weather.

Quiet everywhere today it seems... but at least we had the sun!

Wonderful shots of the ducks. The water looks like silk. Lovely scenic pictures as well and that tree trunk in the first picture is beautiful. I have to say it again, I really like the way you have set up the pictures to view when one is clicked on.

You are lucky to have such a beautiful forest close to home. I like the picture frame idea and the photos are lovely.

Meant to say - the third Little Grebe shot just as it's diving... great timing! :D
