A modern garden

It's a much nicer today temperature wise.

First off to the ruins of Kirkham Priory.

It looks odd to see a fragment of what must have been a magnificent church.

773 St Peter, Wintringham

Then onto Scampson Hall

The Walled Garden was designed by Piet Oudolf. I have to admit to being a little underwhelmed, maybe it needs to age.

The hall is small but contains 6 Gainsborough's. We got a welcome from the owner Sir Charles Legard.

Tomorrow I should have some pics inside and out of one of England's very finest houses.

Beautiful ruins there. You've got to love the carvings in that church. Quite the house that Scampson Hall. Wow! I have to agree with you that the gardens need to be aged, still, the flowers are lovely.

Lovely atmospheric photos of the Priory and wonderful carvings in the church. I bet the Gainsboroughs were good.

Wonderful ruins of Kirkham Priory. And really like the "through the arch" shot with the cattle beyond - looks even better when enlarged! (7th pic down). The gardens look a bit unkempt but perhaps it's the lack of rain as well.
