Minsmere

Oi where did the sun go? It was a grey cloudy morning.

Lowlights missing a Bittern by 5 minutes! Heard them boom though. Highlights? 2 Cetti's Warbler's perched! (lots singing).

Also Kittiwake (at the back of Sizewell), Barnacle Geese, Sedge Warbler, Sand Martins, Marsh Harriers, Med Gulls, Common Whitethroat, Bearded Tit, Linnet, Swallows, Ruff, Redshank, Oystercatcher, Dunlin, Turnstone, Black and Bar Tailed Godwit, Avocet, Ringed Plover.

Not many photos alas...

I then had a quick look at the ruins of Leiston Abbey.

and finally a walk around Snape Maltings (the sun had come out).

there are lots of arty shops, a concert hall and you can buy a flat.

I enjoyed a Kestrel getting mobbed by a corvid, you can also enjoy a walk to Iken church.

Tomorrow? a castle and some churches.

Now the ruins do lend themselves well to B&W - particularly the 2nd one (with glass in the window).

I think the grey day and lack of bright light helped with the Avocet (great pic) - not easy birds to photograph; and I'd just love to see one - something I haven't done for a long while now.
