A Day out

I took Dad to Bury St Edmunds today.

The Abbey Gardens were looking lovely.

We went for a stroll around the market and had a tea and scone in the cathedral refectory.

Then on to Clare Country Park, the star bird being a Kingfisher and these chaps.

The Abbey was dissolved in the reformation by reestablished in the last century. The old Abbey church is now a garden.

Curiously though it was warm it was grey and we even had some rain! At home it was blue skies!

A lovely day out Pete and how nice that you include your Dad so often.
Lovely photos, as you said the Abbey Gardens look lovely and I loved the cheerful Sunflower. Excuse my ignorance but what is the TV you had with your scone, I'm sure there is an obvious answer and that I will feel silly when you tell me :)

Great to see Sunflowers already - very cheering! Abbey Gardens looks like typical Council planting - very colourful though! :D

Interesting building all in the pink.

Lucky you to see the Kingfisher..!

A good day out Pete, and some great pictures too.
Sunflowers always look so cheery, with their big faces.
The Abbey Gardens certainly are colourful.

Lovely sunflower and lots of colour in the gardens. Your dad seems to be enjoying the outing.
