I think good sight is so imoportant for older people in particular-they are often getting more unstable and need to be able to see where they are going.
My mum lost her sight last year, after muscles behind the eyes had been affected by the treatment for her brain tumour. Being a painter, it really hit hard.

Fingers crossed for you both. It's a worry. Mum said she fell out on the road a couple of nights ago. I shouldn't let her out alone on her own...
