Off to Norfolk

Well we left, we weren't ready on time. Tricia was busy for about half an our desperately cleaning the condensation off of her poor new car, but we made up lost time as Lewis Hamilton drove up the M11. The engineer was able to explain to Lewis that in order for the car to heat up you had to turn the heater on. She'll kill me for this you realise.

We got to Hunstanton about 7:30 and I had forgot we were in Norfolk, the local Tesco didn't open until 8. So we too Diane up on the offer of breakfast at the cafe at the camp site. Breakfast (thanks Keith btw) was lovely.

Then to Titchwell. This is offer you don't get everyday eh Cherrypie.

Birds seemed a bit light and water levels at one point were incredibly low. Preparing for the work to the sea walls?

That said we saw some good birds Slavonian Grebe, Snow Bunting, Peregrine, Marsh Harrier, Kestrel, Black and Bar Tailed Godwit, Dunlin, Avocet, Brent Geese, Water Rail, the worlds fastest Beared Tits (blown along at 90mph - lucky they called ping ping!! and various ducks.

and these Sanderling.

A rather cross looking Dunnock

Trish, Diane, Keith and I headed for Thornham. The wind was getting a bit strong and Trish almost took off!

It was ever so bleak and very windy. Keeping the camera steady was nigh impossible.

I love the picture of the cross looking Dunlin. The pictures are all great. Sounds like it was a wonderful day.
