and now for something completely different.

It was a lovely day and I thought you would like a change from the church stately home agenda I normally follow.

So off to the “Venice of the Cotswolds” or Bourton on the Water. It is full of touristy shops but with the river running through it can look lovely when there are few tourists!

I’ve been here many times but never been to Birdland, so thought hell why not makes a change. I even saw some lovely native birds Grey Wagtail and Kingfisher!

Across the road from Bourton is the village of Lower Slaughter….

And shall we look at another Cotswold village? Why not, so off to Chipping Camden with its wonderful church of St James.

This is a medieval priests cope (please note no flash was used in this photo),

And to finish off with we’ll pop into Broadway.

The weather is meant to turn tomorrow so it might be a return to normal service!

Lovely pics! I used to love Birdland when I was little, although I think it was called something else then.

All of these places are so familiar. Went to Birdland a few years back but the penguins were all in moult - and hiding!

There's always a charm about Cotswold villages.
