Friday – England’s Last Castle.

I felt that someone in Newfoundland would be in church denial so we headed off to Exeter and I could show you Exeter Cathedral. The cathedral is excellent, even if I don’t think much of Exeter.

I reckon there are a few OC moments here!

Oh and the Cathedral refrectory can hang its head in shame, its scones come nowhere near the standard of St Albans or Bury St Edmunds cathedrals.

The sun was shining and so we headed to Castle Drogo. It was designed by Edward Lutyens for the Drewe family (who owned Home & Colonial stores). The castle was built between 1910-1930 and is England’s last castle. It was envisaged as being much bigger.

The cat is the garden cat and she lives in the garden, there is a castle cat (a sister) and if they meet it is like the OK Corral.

So that’s the holiday, next one is a long weekend in two weeks :D

WOW! To say I'm awe struck by what's inside Exeter Cathedral is to put it lightly. Fantastic stuff! I do like the lady with the skull, right up my alley as I have a fascination for skulls, lol.

Lovely flowers and the cat is a beauty.
