History, Deer and posing Squirrels

Where to? I had six options and I couldn’t make my mind up. As it was I ended up almost by default at Dunham Massey which was where I ought to have gone as I had never been before.

And you know what? It was an excellent place to go, pleasant gardens, deer park and an interesting house. The weather could have been better but it didn’t really stop me doing what I wanted.

At this point a Kingfisher flashed along. They are magical birds.

Ooh great - wooden sculptures - something I love.

And that squirrel (called Oliver) "please sir, could I have some more?"

That squirrel is just too, too cute. I really like the wooden sculptures. The face with the tongue out is fabulous. Wonderful pictures.

Just to add to my previous comment. I think "Oliver" needs to be renamed "Olive" (for obvious reasons :) )

Is it me or does the wood scupture 2 pics below the KCspaniel say Old ST.
I looked like that in my youth.
I love your holiday snaps.
Always a joy to drop by.

Great Post, Pete.

Loved your pictures.

We used to have a Kingfisher in the river which surrounded our previous house on two sides. Flew into the greenhouse door once and after a good rest and recovery of shock flew off again.
Giving us a chance to have a good look at this coloured bird.

yoke.
