A typical Quacky Sunday

The weather was meant to be horrid today so I left the camera at home but stuck the bins in the car. I didn't anticipate any birding so I don't know why I did that!

Anyway went around my parents. Took them to do some shopping, given all Mum's treatments and stuff they don't get out so much these days so the change is good, its also the BIG check up with the cancer specialist this week (oh and Dad starts his insulin injections). We were only going to one shop ... Farm Foods. YES I KNOW it's a down market Iceland! BUT it does sell some known brands incredibly cheap. It also happens to be the only place selling Young's Scampi and Chips which is remarkably good value at £1.25 a pack. If my Mum goes out for a meal I can psychicly tell what she'll have .... Scampi !! She loves the stuff!!

Got back and Dad I went for a walk. The little Ford had more water than I've seen for a while. Bird highlights? Jay and Long Tailed Tits.

Dinner was Roast Gammon, Cauliflower Cheese, peas, carrots and Roast Pots to be followed by Spotted Dick and Custard. Yum!!

I had intended coming home to read but as the sun was out I popped into Rye Meads. Very quiet, quelle surprise, but a pair of coots were "making lurve", Great Tits prospecting nest boxes. Loads of Ducks (female Pochard was nice - wonder if she was the one with a young family last summer). And of course a Green Sandpiper!

Got back to read this and its all MY fault? shakes head. Someone been talking to Diane, Boo, Nic, OC, Jan (from Cornwall), Jan (from Wales), the Blonde One and EB??

I really enjoyed this one too. Very British with the dinner all listed out - I'll be right over.

I am now apologizing for blaming my humiliating story all on your blog - am I forgiven?? I'll send over some Harlequins - you can keep them in a swim pond in the back yard.
