What do they see in him?

Beki has beaten me in to commenting on Lembit Opik (an MP who backed about 300 different Lib Dem leadership contenders BUT never backed Menzies Campbell).

For those of you who don't know, the rather odd looking Lib Dem MP has broken with his long term fiancee weather "girl" Sian Lloyd. Hed is now, as Beki so eruditely put it, "munching a pop tart for breakfast" as he's going out with one of the Cheeky Girls, Gabriela Irmia (they enjoyed five minutes of fame with The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) ).

Mr Opik assured party officials there was no overlap in the relationships (or please don't sack me) whereas Ms Lloyd claimed that Ms Irmias relationship with Mr Opik was a "pantomime" and that the "affair" had led to the couple's break-up.

Anyway if you REALLY want to read more about this then...........

But that isn't what I wanted to talk about.

Now what is it that Ms Lloyd and Ms Irma (both undeniably reasonably attractive) see in Lembit Opik? I mean I can see what woman see in current Strictly Come Dancing heart throb Mark Ramprakash or in a number of famous actors and the like BUT Lembit Opik?? You what?

I remember some years ago a female colleague lamenting that according to some female colleagues she had slept with the entire office. I replied well you haven't slept with me and if you've slept with FDC I am mortally offended - she laughed thank god!

I don't regard myself as gods gift to women but ye gods Lembit Opik (if you are reading this and are thinking whose he kidding then sod off ;) there is a photo of me somewhere on here April I think) . I remember when I bought my HiFi the dealer and I chucking that Julia Roberts marrying Lyle Lovett gave hope to men everywhere!

I am well aware that Women often say "what does he see in her" and us men think said female is a bit tasty. So girls, what do two moderately attractive women see in Lembit Opik? Because frankly I don't get it.

I'm afraid I'd never heard of him, but having done a google, I can agree, he doesn't float my boat either. He's not ugly though, pleasant enough looking. Not everyone goes for looks though, personality counts for a lot with me, as long as someone isn't gruesome looking, there has to be some attraction in the first place, even if it's just someone's eyes, smile, etc.

She's an eastern European intent on finding herself a husband. And doesn't he speak some odd language? maybe that was it.

Well I don't know - but I tend not to fancy people unless I meet them in the flesh, so it's difficult to say. He's got a cheery grin in that photo though. And he happens to be our MP. Which is slightly scary.

"..eastern European intent on finding herself a husband" These eastern Europeans have a habit of doing that!

He's not my type either, but some people will fall for anything.

Apart from the obvious see above...

Its the "power" attraction. I know its odd but apparently some women go for a man with power or potentially will have....

many MP's have amazing woman as their other half...talented and good looking.

Now personality also has a part to play in some relationships. (No idea what he is like apart from he is supposed to be intelligent!! apparently!!)
Certainly he doesn't float my boat!!
